Welcome to the Otoe-Missouria Consumer Finance Services Regulatory Commission

The Otoe-Missouria Consumer Finance Regulatory Commission regulates all consumer financial services conducted from the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians reservation lands in Oklahoma.

The Commission is a governmental subdivision of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians and is responsible for licensing and monitoring lenders and vendors and enforcing the Tribe’s lending laws to protect the public welfare and ensure consumers are protected.

The Commission fulfills its duties in part by licensing consumer financial service providers and vendors that operate from within the Tribe’s jurisdiction.  Through the licensing process, the Commission ensures the integrity, strength, and solvency of the Tribe’s licensees and requires all entities participating in Tribal consumer financial services to comply with all applicable Tribal and federal laws.  The Commission is empowered to supervise and take appropriate enforcement actions against its licensees to  safeguard the interest of the Tribe, the licensees, and most importantly, the consumers.

The Commission enforces the Tribe’s laws to ensure that licensed entities that extend credit to consumers do so fairly lawfully, and in a way that is easily understood.  By fulfilling its duties, the Commission is able to assist the Tribe’s development of a robust financial services industry for the benefit of the Tribe’s members and the community.

The Commission is happy to help consumers with questions about the Tribe’s consumer financial services.

Consumers with complaints or concerns about one of the Tribe’s consumer financial services providers or licensees should fill out a complaint form so the Commission can help.
